This guide is designed to walk you through the LTC training process by answering 5 questions:
You don't have a resident state requirement for LTC training unless you have a non-resident license in a state other than those listed here.
Note: These states do not show up on the state drop-down menu for either Initial or CE/Refresher LTC Training because these states do not such requirements.
Example: If your resident license is in NY, and you hold a non-resident license in CT, DC, NC and VA, you have no further state training to do, because all of these states are on the "no training" list for this product.
However, if you are resident licensed in NY and hold a non-resident license in NJ, and you want to sell LTC in NJ, you need to take an 8-hour Long-term Care Policies & Partnership course for the state of New Jersey to be LTC certified for that state.
If you hold a non-resident license in a state other than CT, DC, GA, HI, KS, KY, MS, MO, NH, NY, NC, ND, TX, or VA, and intend to sell LTC in that state - Skip to STEP 3.
If you have no other non-resident licenses, Skip to STEP 6 for JPMC Internal Product Training Instructions.
YES. Your resident state requires you to complete Initial LTC Training.

Find your resident state and read LTC Training requirements
CO residents - You must complete a 8-hour Initial LTC Training online course and a 8-hour initial live classroom course. From the landing page you'll be enrolled in the online course. Please call 1-800-866-2468 to schedule the 8-hour live classroom.
I hold a non-resident license in at least one other state on this list. Do I have to do 8-hours for training for each one?
NO. Most states consider your 8-hour initial LTC Training completed in your resident state to be compliant and reciprocate with their own training. Reciprocity is when one state will accept an agent's completed training in another state. The only exceptions to this are the states of CA, MA, SD, VT, and WI.
Example: If your resident state is AL, Let's say you hold a non-resident license in MS (a no training state) and SC and FL. You decide you have customers in all of these states who might be interested in the LTC rider. According to the JPMC-LTC State Requirements Initial Training document, AL requires 8-hours of Initial training for resident producers.
Go to STEP 3 to answer non-resident enrollment questions.

Find your resident state and read LTC Training requirements
If you hold a non-resident license in any of the states listed above and have not take 8 hours of LTC training in your resident state, you must take 8 hours of initial LTC training in one of your non-resident states to be compliant.
**Only one Initial Training course is needed in a non-resident state and will reciprocate with all others on this list! Reciprocity is when one state will accept an agent's completed training in another state.**
Non-resident licensees in:
Example:If your resident license is in NY and you hold non-resident licenses in CA, NJ and SD, this is how your training would break down:
NJ LTC training is reciprocal with SD. Take the SD 8-hour course, which will meet the NJ requirements as well. One course will satisfy both states.
With this logic, you will need to complete:
Go to STEP 4 to gather necessary license information, then to STEP 5 to enroll.
You need your license numbers for both your resident state and any non-resident state identified in Steps 2 or 3 that apply to you, as well as your National Producer Number (NPN).
If you need to look this information up, follow these instructions:
Or, if you prefer to call or email the DOI directly for your information, here is a list of all state contact phone and email addresses: State Contact Information
Note: In these states, the NPN = License Number: AZ, AR, IL, IA, KS, NE, NC, ND, SC, WV, WI
Go to STEP 5.
ANY producer who sells ANY type of LTC product must complete the state's LTC training BEFORE selling, soliciting, or negotiating any stand-alone LTC policy, or any policy which contains a LTC Rider.

NOTE: Some states require your Final/Certification exam to be monitored by a disinterest 3rd party, this can be a co-worker who is not directly linked to you financially, but cannot be a family member, your supervisor, or a close friend.
Go to STEP 6 for Internal Training instructions.
Yes, you will be advised of Internal JPMC LTC Product training.
To complete the training use the internally published course code to assign the training to yourself via the learning portal (learning@jpmc) via the intranet learning portal.
You are required to complete both state LTC training (if required) for your resident and non-resident licenses AND internal JPMC product training before getting access to EZ Forms.
Go to STEP 7 for instructions on Health Licensing (if you do not already have a Health LOA on your license).
To sell long-term care (LTC) products, JPMC requires you to hold the Health LOA on your resident license.
Go to STEP 8.
If you are not sure if your insurance license already includes a Health Line of Authority (meaning you completed and passed the Health portion of your state insurance licensing exam), these links will give you options to look that information up.
Go to STEP 9.
(In Illinois, this is a classroom requirement and you will be directed to select a classroom course convenient to you.)
NOTE: JPMC pays for the course but does not pay for printed study material or shipping charges (except IL and FL).
You are personally responsible for paying for any learning tools or printed study materials you want to add to your order.
